How Do You Determine the Value of a Coin?

We determine a coin's value by several factors, including its rarity, condition, demand among collectors, and where applicable, its precious metal content. Two coins of the same design can vary significantly in value depending on their condition and scarcity.

Do You Buy Coins From Individuals?

Yes. Numara purchases a wide variety of coins and collections from the public, including circulated coins, silver coins, gold coins, proof sets, pre-decimal coins and inherited collections. Simply contact us with photographs for an initial assessment. If required, we can provide a pre-paid envelope so we can inspect your coins and provide an accurate valuation. What Types of Coins Do You Deal With?

We specialise in British coins, including modern decimal coins, commemorative 50ps, £2 coins, £1 coins, pre-decimal coinage, silver and gold coins, proof sets and selected world coins. We also purchase and sell coin collections of all sizes.

Do You Offer Free Coin Valuations?

Yes. We are happy to provide an initial assessment of your coins free of charge from photographs. However, a more accurate valuation may require physical inspection, particularly for silver, gold or higher-value collections.

I Have Inherited a Coin Collection. What Should I Do?

Inherited collections can often feel overwhelming, especially if you are unfamiliar with coins. We recommend leaving the collection exactly as it is and contacting us with photographs. We can help identify the coins and guide you through the valuation and selling process.

Can You Tell Me If My Coin Is Rare?

We can often provide guidance from photographs, but rarity depends on factors such as the coin's date, mintage, variety and condition. Our free Coin Guides are also a great place to learn more about UK coins and their rarity.

Do You Buy Silver and Gold Coins?

Yes. We purchase a variety of silver and gold coins, including pre-1947 British silver coins, sovereigns, Britannias, proof issues and collections containing precious metal coins.

Do You Ship Throughout the United Kingdom?

Yes. We dispatch orders throughout the UK using tracked postal services to ensure your coins arrive safely. Shipping is fixed at £2.99 on all orders, using 2nd class tracked 48hr through Royal Mail. We offer free tracked delivery on all orders £100 or more.
